With Valentine’s Day round the corner, there can be nothing better than treating your special someone with a special treat, right? If you are a beginner and wish to impress your s/o with something worth remembering on that fated evening, we have got your back! Nothing can replace the magic of chocolates on this day and what better than adding a little tint of booze to that, right?
Follow these easy steps to make delicious boozy chocolates at home. Rum, scotch, vodka; the choice of liquor is yours!
.Prepare chocolate shells in moulds (avoid the ones with a rounded base!) and set them aside. This will help provide it the stability it needs, just like your relationship.
.Combine water and sugar in the ratio of 2:3. Bring them to a boil till all the sugar has dissolved, and then let it cool down to room temperature.
.Mix the above-made sugar syrup with your preferred liquor in the ratio of 2:3.
.Fill the moulded chocolate shells with this liquor syrup, filling up to 3/4th of each shell, ensuring there’s no dripping around the edges.
.Mix equal quantities of butter and fondant, and warm the mixture till it has a very runny texture.
.Pipe a thin layer of this butter-fondant mixture over the liquor syrup in the shells till it floats to the surface. Allow these to firm up at room temperature, should ideally take about a minute or two.
.Take molten chocolate mixed with about 10% - 15% vegetable/Canola oil in a piping bag and seal the chocolate shells completely. (Ensure the chocolate is fully sealed with no gaps, you don’t want all that liquor to ooze out!)
.Refrigerate till the chocolate is set. Gift these to your partner on your date and enjoy the gush of liquor mixed with the delicious chocolate in your mouth, probably ending with a kiss to seal the deal! You will definitely thank us later.
